About

My name is Anne Soutry. I have had a lifelong love of ‘making’, from making music – I studied viola and singing at the Royal Academy of Music, to making curtains and soft furnishings – I had my own soft furnishings and interior design company in the 1980s. Or else I simply pottered around at home making use of my enviably well-equipped and ever-growing tool box!

My ‘real job’ for 28 years was as an estate agent in SW London working in and managing sales offices for prestigious companies such as John D Wood & Co and Knight Frank LLP. In my spare time I took millinery courses and began making hats and fascinators for friends and family, creating bespoke commissions for weddings, race meetings and Buckingham Palace garden parties.

My creative instincts led me to try my hand at making jewellery and this ignited a love for working with gems and pearls as well as with beads and crystals. My designs range from Chanel-inspired pearl creations to ‘edgy’ pieces which evolve organically from mixing and matching stones of every shape and colour. Most of the pieces I make are ‘one-offs’ but can sometimes be repeated as long as the components are available. They are all assembled by me and will be unique to you.

In 2019 I decided it was time to hang up my estate agency keys and to follow my passion for creating jewels and hats. Each creation, whether a piece of jewellery or a hat or a fascinator, is a stylish reflection of the wearer’s individuality.

Welcome to Anne Soutry Jewels and Hats. I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I do!
